Title: Equity Concerns in the Legal Regulation of Artificial Intelligence in Canada

Abstract: This talk will discuss the current state of artificial intelligence (AI) regulation in Canada, with a particular focus on the proposed Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (Bill C-27). It will explore the good, the bad, and the ugly in the proposed Bill through an equity lens, drawing from the presenter’s submissions to the House of Commons on the proposed legislation, co-authored with the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF).
